Hello, my name is Karen Templer and I’ll be your blogger here at Future Tiny Forest. I am the “owner” of a tiny rectangle of Earth in Upstate NY, which I think of more as being its caretaker for the time being, and I mean to do right by it and my neighbors. I’ve begun the process of replacing its wall-to-wall carpet of ecologically useless turf grass with trees and plant life, reconnecting it to the ecosystem — and in the process, creating a shady oasis for myself and my husband, and the local birds, bees and other creatures.

Here you’ll find the backstory and progress updates on that — start with the intro: Heaven is a forest — as well as book reviews, link lists, sources of inspiration, and hopefully lively conversation about all of the above!
